This book is an honest account of the life of a current working girl who has been in the business for 20 years. Eliana qualified as a state enrolled nurse but chose to become a working girl. She did not realise how the darker side of the business would affect her life and, later, her children and those close to her.

Even becoming the boss of a small sauna has not solved her financial and other problems but she has survived thanks to a supportive mother and loyal friends. Eliana gives graphic, factual, often funny and sometimes moving descriptions of what being a working girl entails.

She lifts the cover on the world of paid-for sex which will surprise and sometimes shock the reader. After 20 years in the business she wants to leave it now but it’s not that easy. As well as describing in detail what happens in saunas and flats used by working girls Eliana talks about the difficulties of living a double existence which has to be hidden from her children, most friends, relatives and neighbours.

Hers is a very human account of what being a working girl entails. Eliana writes about her experiences in a matter-of-fact way that may sometimes disturb readers while also allowing them to laugh with her at the absurdities that drive some men’s sexual needs.
